Day 1 Cape Town

World Cup 2010

Arrived at Cape Town late in the day, after a long flight from home via Dubai.
Once we had picked up our transport for the next 2 weeks, we drove downtown towards our hotel. The Mandela Rhodes Place on Wale Street

The streets were very busy with diverted traffic signs guiding us around the centre of Cape Town, as they were making a film in the centre of town. While driving there was a huge explosion which was part of a scene in the film, but it had all 4 of us jumping and wondering what was happening.

Once we had booked into the hotel and settled into our appartment suite which had 2 double bedrooms both with ensuites, we decided to tour the local area. We did not venture too far, and kept mainly to the cobbled area's were they had plenty of street side restaurants to choose from. We had an excellent meal washed down with some local wine.

Kath 1st to bed after a long day especially with our stop over in Dubai for 8 hours during the night, but still managed one game of Sudoku !!
